Northwestern Musical Spectacular in Millennium Park, May 25

You’re invited to be part of a special evening of music against the backdrop of Chicago’s most beautiful outdoor stage, Sunday, May 25, at 6 p.m.

For the third year in a row, Northwestern University’s School of Music will flood the stage of Millennium Park’s Jay Pritzker Pavilion with a mega-concert … “A Cello, Saxophone, and Brass Spectacular.”

The performance will feature three separate ensembles—50 cellos, 45 saxophones, and a large brass ensemble—conducted by distinguished faculty members in the School of Music, including Hans Jørgen Jensen, Victor Yampolsky, Gail Williams, and Mallory Thompson. Hear the cello ensemble in Barber’s Adagio for Strings, the saxophone ensemble in Bernstein’s Overture to Candide and Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, and the wind ensemble in Strauss’s Alpine Symphony.

Spread out on the lawn, enjoy a special evening, and show your Northwestern pride. Let’s show Chicago a sea of purple in the audience!

The concert is free and open to the public, but we advise that you arrive early. No RSVP required.
