NU Clubs in Texas Host Alumni to Talk Career Management and Networking

The Northwestern Alumni Association (NAA) and the NU Clubs of Austin, Houston, and Dallas-Fort Worth hosted three individual events in February to strengthen alumni networks and share career management wisdom with fellow Wildcats. The events featured a diverse group of alumni who are industry leaders from prominent organizations in their communities, and attracted more than 150 Northwestern graduates from all generations—from those in career transition to those looking to expand their networks.

The NU Club of Austin and the NU Club of Houston hosted Networking: The Most Powerful Tool in Your Arsenal featuring keynote speaker Rob Sullivan (GJ90), career coach, corporate trainer, and author of Getting Your Foot in the Door When You Don’t Have a Leg to Stand On (McGraw-Hill).

The NU and Kellogg Clubs of Dallas-Fort Worth held a joint event for the DFW Annual Career and Networking Symposium. Ray Farley (EB '51), retired President and CEO of S.C. Johnson, discussed the importance of leadership and ethics in driving professional success, sharing anecdotes from his wide range of civic and professional accomplishments. Alumni then had an opportunity to network, hear about resources available through the NAA Career Services, and participate in discussion sessions facilitated by local alumni experts on topics such as leadership, changing careers, and entrepreneurship.
